Sustainability Policy
The Mission Statement of P. J. Noyes Company requires us to “Be recognized as a positive force within our community”. As such, we will continuously work to lower our environmental impact using the following steps:
- Use Lean Manufacturing concepts to reduce the amount of wasted raw materials
- Divert recyclable materials from the landfill to a channel where they can be recycled either through our own efforts or by urging suppliers to take back used materials that they can reprocess
- Reduce our energy consumption through better management, more efficient machinery and utilities, and attempt to use locally renewable resources
- Encourage customers to use recyclable and recycled materials in packaging applications
- Promote in our workplace that the Mission Statement of “pride of workmanship” includes work practices that reduce environmental impact
- Ensure that our operations comply with applicable environmental law and regulations
It will be the responsibility of the management team of P.J. Noyes to annually set goals and monitor progress towards meeting them. The management team will also create a sustainability team consisting of a cross-section of employees, including a champion from the management team.
